Walking Foot Quilting - VIRTUAL

Walking foot quilting is an easy and attractive way to quilt our own quilts and other projects such as bags. You can achieve great results with your walking foot.

In this class you will learn the basics of walking foot quilting and some creative ways to quilt with your walking foot. We will cover straight lines, stitching in the ditch, straight lines without marking, quilting curved lines, and quilting with decorative stitches. We will also cover needles, thread, batting, basting your quilt, and machine set up.

You will need a machine with a walking foot or dual feed.

Supplies Needed
Prepare a quilt sandwich of 2 layers of fabric and 1 layer of batting, prior to the start of class.
The sandwich should be about fat quarter size (18 inches x20 inches) and they should be made of a light or medium value fabric. I would choose a fabric that looks almost like a solid. Please avoid busy prints and dark fabrics, they will make it more difficult to see markings and stitching.

You will also need a copy of Walk by Jacquie Gering. I will reference this book throughout class.
