Pam retired from a successful career in the insurance and financial services industry and then settled back into sewing and quilting. I sewed my own clothes in high school and when I was first married and raising my family. Then I worked my professional career for twenty years. When I retired from that, "I sold my truck and bought a longarm quilting machine" she says. That was just the beginning.
She moved her longarm into the current location when she dreamed about opening a quilting business. Quilting for others and teaching classes on how to operate a longarm quilting machine is how it all started. Then people began asking for beginning quilting classes and fabric, and then sewing machines. One thing led to another and before long, Pam and her husband Rick were adding on to the inside of the building. "We added BERNINA sewing machines because they are known for quality and precision." Rick, an engineer who owns UP Fabricating Inc, is her Sewing Machine Technician.
My dream is to become a destination for sewists and quilters alike. People are coming to the area to hike, bike, ski and enjoy the outdoors. Those that come here also want to see what type of indoor fun can be had, too. My store isn't far off the Heritage Trail, and is a place to be inspired creatively. We have an inviting set up where people can come in and quilt a quilt, take a class, shop for what's new in fabric and notions. There will be events and classes held at the studio, so do keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming events. It's a place where people of like minds can come together to be creative.
Come on in and experience it! And don't say we didn't warn you.....be prepared to lose track of time....because Time Flies When You're Sewing!
